In web hosting, backing up your data is important. Many web hosting services offer backups of your data on
their end, which means that they automatically backup the data on your web host account so that if the website
crashes, your data is safe and no data is lost. These web hosting service packages offer to backup your data
be it on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. However, it is also strongly recommended to manually backup your
own files to avoid data loss because you never know if a certain web host will crash and it’s better to be
safe than sorry. cPanel has a Backup feature that can help you manually backup your data, save it to your
designated location on your computer and restore it if the need arises.

Here are the steps on how to use the Backup feature in cPanel:

1. Log in to your cPanel account.

2. Scroll down to take a look at the back up options in cPanel.

3. Click Backup icon.

4. The back up screen can now be seen. Here, you can backup and/or restore files in your hosting account. A
system backup has three options to automatically backup your files. The options are daily, weekly and monthly.

5. Scroll down to see the manual back up section of the back up screen. Depending on which files you want to
back up, there are several ways to back them up. You can back up the home directory by clicking on the Home
Directory button. If you prefer to backup a MySQL database, click on the link under the Databases category. Or
you can backup only those files in the specific subdomains or filters by clicking on their categories.

link.
