So you get your shiny new VPS or dedicaated server and you want to know how well it stacks up.

So the first thing your going to want to do is grab a copy of unix bench 5.1.2 at least (5.1.3 recommended)
you can get this at: http://code.google.com/p/byte-unixbench/

For this to run it needs a few prereqs so in centos/redhat/fedora you need to first run 'su yum -y install
gcc gcc-c++ make'

Then once you have downloaded Unixbench in tar.gz format you need to untar/pack/zip it to do this run 'tar
xfvz Unixbench-5.1.3.tar.gz'

Now you want to run it, move in to the new Unixbench firectory (HINT: you dont need to type full names in
most instances just the first few letters then hit tab) with 'cd Unixbench'

Then run it with './Run'

As a general rule of tumb you want to be scoring at least 400 points per CPU core'

And that's it go make a coffee it may be a while (30 minutes)
