Answer 3)The 2 best ways to track your hits are awstats and google analytics. Awstats will be in your cpanel if your
hosting company has enabled them. If they havent, find another host! Google analytics requires a java script
snippet inserted in the header of your web site. Dont worry, google has a great tutorial on how to do it!
Between the 2 you will get a great idea of how many visitors your site gets.

Answer 9)There are many ways to track hits on your site.
The most recommended is Google Analytic - Where you could track practically everything. Where are the hits
coming from, how many are from unique visitors(first time), how did they arrive at your site(searc h terms)
etc. It's a very powerful analytic where you could track your hits.
Another one was in our cPanel - AWStats, Webalizer etc.
However, some of the tracking software isn't that accurate as they didn't record the unique visitors. They
usually record how much is the page loaded. If you - yourself edited few contents, refresh the page to see the
changes, and you repeated this up to 30 times. Your tracking will show that your site hits up to 30 times.
Thus, this can be proved to be inaccurate. So we recommend Google Analytic as it doesn't keep track on pages
loaded by the owner of the site.

Answer 10)There are several things that can do this. First most web hosts provide this service through your control
panel and would show up as Analog, Webalizer, or other stats programs. Externally Google Adsense and
Hitsniffer are two good places to get external tracking services from.

Answer 16)All hosting accounts come with raw log files generated by the server which contain all the information about
the visitors to your website, there are many software applications around that you can use to process these
logs into a useful legible format.
Online graphical statistics are also available with hosting accounts and give you a detailed graphical
representation of how many visitors your website is getting, where they are coming from and what they are
doing.
The graphical statistics software that are available on all PIpe Ten's hosting accounts as standard are
Webalizer and AWStats. You can use either one or both of these on your account and are easily setup on a per
domain basis through the online control panel.

Answer 17)There are a few things that need to be cleared in terms of terminology:
* Hits - this simply refers to the number of \'elements\' loaded on your site. If one page has five
images in it, viewing that page once adds 6 hits (one page + five images).
* Impressions - the number of times all the pages on your site are seen (also simply called pageviews).
Impressions are sometimes referred to as \'hits\' which can cause confusion
* Uniques - the number of people that visited your site
So to clarify, if I visit your website, look at two pages, and each page has 5 images on it, then your stats
increase by one unique, two page views, and 12 hits.
Tracking on your site can be either done server-side or remotely. With server-side statistics, log files are
used to generate visitor information. This is usually much more accurate than remotely hosted solutions. In
such cases, you usually have to add some javascript to your site. This javascript is then used to track
visitor data.
